Viking Shield

As a teacher, you’re not allowed to say that you have a favorite student – it’s illegal. By extention, it would be pretty rude to say that you have a favorite gift from a student; unless that gift is a fully functional viking shield.

Presented to me on the last day of class, the shield features my spirit animal (the crow) and has two heavy duty straps on the reverse, making it surprisingly comfortable to wield. I have been told it would actually stop the blade of an axe, my wife has insisted I not try it. If I ever teach in person again, it will be the first thing I hang in the classroom.
